Is it possible to take animal chaplain courses online? Yes, you can! We can send you the worksheets electronically and the manuals will be sent via mail. You may purchase many of the books independently. You can also take the courses via correspondence, in which case we will mail all materials to you. In either case, you may work at your own pace, time and location. Do I have to be affiliated with a church or faith organization? The Passmore Animal Chaplain Program is open to all faith denominations. You need not be affiliated with any organization to become an Animal Chaplain. However, once you complete your studies and receive your Credential, if you wish to pursue Ordination as an Animal Chaplain, you will need to engage in, or provide validation of, one year of animal ministry service. Your ministry work can be independent or affiliated with a faith, or other, organization. What is the total length of time needed to become an Animal Chaplain? If you do this through our distance learning program, the length of time depends on how much time and effort you put into it. What is the total cost to complete the ministerial program? Program fees are noted on the Animal Chaplain requirements sheet. Any required books beyond the manuals currently included in the materials fee, would be would be the only additional expense. How do Animal Chaplains get started once they have completed the program? Do they just go out and start their ministry? Some of our graduates have started their own animal ministries. Some do seminars, teach classes and specialize in such areas such grief counseling or veterinary hospital chaplaincy. Your ministry is limited only by your own imagination! This sounds great!
